Winters kiss of frost

Brianne was walking in the snowy cold forest of Findlay, as she walked she hummed a song. It was cloudy and snowing but it was a good day for a walk, "Ah, it feel good to move." she said as she sighed.

Makai was sitting on a branch with a sigh. he watched as Brianne moved in the snow. he just sat their smokign a cigeratte.

*I smell smoke.* she thought as she looked around then saw Makai, "Makai! I haven't seen you in 3 years." she was glad he was still alive, she walked to the tree he was on and climbed up and sat on the branch. Brianne smiled as she looked to him, "I'm glad your ok, I was kind of worried that something happened. How is Nina by the way?"

Makai put the cigeratte out by using his palm it healed instantly, 'She is fine Brianne." His voice distant and cold. He was looking away from her.

"That's good." Brianne crossed a leg over the other and sighed, "Makai, is something wrong?"

he shook his head, "Nothings wrong." The vampire looked up at the night sky. He sighed slightly. He was still looking away from her, "Nothing at all."

"It seem like there is." Brianne said then put a hand on his, "You aren't looking at me, why so?"

Makai leapt from the branch. His hands in his pockets, 'I said it's nothing." He had been trying to rid his emotions of her for the past three years.

Brianne rolled her eyes, "Just like you, always by yourself." she said as she shrugged, "I know you love me Makai, you said it yourself the day I had forgot you." Brianne said now laying in the tree with her back against the tree.

Makai tsked and looked away still. he lit up a cigeratte, 'What of it? Whose to say i haven't lost that feeling."

"If you don't love me now, then for what reason? For forgetting about you, it was not my fault, mastermind took my memories. For not being there for 3 years, I was turned to stone." Brianne said then looked to Makai, "For what reason have you stopped, if you love someone then stop there has to be a reason."

He stared straight at her,"Do you have any idea what those marks are?" he was refering to the markings he gave her,

"You mean the ones you gave me when you bit me?" She said as she put a hand to her neck, "I don't since I have never really considered to learn about vampires since I was busy protecting the Isle...which is now gone." she said, the last part she said darkly.

He sighed and began to walk away, "I marked you as a potential mate. But it doesn't mater now." His hands in his pockets. His back turned to her as he slowly walked off still in her line of sight.

"Hold on there, Makai." She said appearing infront of him, "Mate? You mean you marked me potential wife?! and ypou say it doesn't matter anymore." Brianne wanted to smack him on the back of the head, *Doesn't matter anymore, what is up with him?*

He stared straight at her, "I failed to protect you. Thats more than enough reason for me to stopping wanting to be with you. A vampire who fails to protect the one they love is nothing but a failure in the eyes of there kind."

"So that's it." she said softly, "Makai, you did protect me, you saved me from Mastermind, you keep me safe for 3 years, you were protecting the tower which I was in. You were protecting me Makai."

He stared straight at her, "But i didn't stop you from turning to stone! I didn't stop you loosing your spirit and soul now did i! The stones may have been fake but you loosing your soul and spirit wasn't!"he shouted at her. He was holding back the tears

"But does that mean you just give up. With every plan there is a bump and that was just a bump." Brianne said then hugged Makai, "Makai, I don't want you to give up just because that happened. I believe that you tried your best and I knew something was going to happen to me. I never had anyone love me but my family and I don't want you to stop just because of that. At least I am alive right?"

Makai hugged her back. he held her close. He kissed her forehead gently.

Brianne closed her eyes, "Please, promise me that you won't give, please." she said as she felt herself start to cry a bit.

Makai kissed her forehead, 'Alright i promise." he gently rubbed her back.

Brianne wiped the tears away and pushed away a bit, "I need to get back to the castle, it's getting dark and colder." she said as she looked to the skies, the snow still falling.

Makai picked Brianne up bridal style. He grew wings and flew back to the castle. He flew in through an open window and smiled at her.

They were in a guest room, lucky for her it was the one she was staying in. Brianne smiled at Makai, "Thank you Makai." then poofed to her dresser and put away her mothers necklace and set her gloves down. She put away her coat and boots and went into the bathroom and got changed into pj's, "So what have you been doing for 3 years?" She asked as she came out of the bathroom.
