beginning of a new life

Kevin put a blanket over Fuzz and carried him to his room, "This will be a better place for him to sleep." he said as he placed the basket on the ground and petted him, "Can you cook some carrots?"

Siera nodded and rushed down into the kitchen. She had never really tried it, but she hoped that it would not be difficult to cook carrots. It took some time till Siera thought that the carrots were finished and then rushed with them into Kevins room. "Here.", she said.

Kevin mashed up the carrots and tried to feed it to Fuzz, "It's easier if the food is mashed if your treating animals." Fuzz's nose twitched and started to nibble on the spoon full of mushed carrots.

"It seems you also have much experience with animals.", she said to Kevin.

"I do, I don't know how I'm better at taking care of animals when I never remember ever doing so." Kevin said as he scooped another spoonful and Fuzz ate it again.

"Maybe it has something to do with your power.", Siera guessed. She did not knew why she had that idea, but she thought it might be logical.

"I have control over dragons, not animals. I can't remember anything before getting pulled out of the stump." Kevin said as he looked to Seria.

"To be exact a dragon is a type of animal. And only because you can only control one type of animal, it did not mean that somehow other parts of the animal power can be used.", she said to Kevin.

"Ah but I don't know how to take care of fish....I just know how to cook them." Kevin said as he stood up.

Siera laughed. "You do not need to know everything. Otherwise the world would not be funny.", she said to him.

"Lets have lunch, hopefully I managed to switch everything that I needed." he said as he went down stairs.

Siera followed Kevin downstairs. Suddenly she found something out. "Since when do you have no fun anymore? Since when do you do not laugh?", she suddenly asked the boy.

Kevin stopped, he didn't turn to her and was quiet for a moment, "Since my parents died, since I was taken by Mastermind, since I was locked away in a stump for 3 years." He said with his back to her, "Why do you ask."

"I know how it is for a child not to laugh. It is not good. I had also not laughed when I was at your age.", she said to Kevin. She laid a hand on his shoulder. "Even if you have seen much horrible things in your life till now, you need to have fun. Otherwise you will be sick in your soul."

"Why do you think I live alone." he said as he sadly looked down.

Siera looked at him. Then she turned him around to her and knelt in front of him. "Kevin, living alone is not the right thing. You need somebody. Even if this somebody only comes sometimes to you. This person could help you.", she said to him and tried to look in his eyes.

Kevin shook his head, "I can't be with anyone, they just end up hating me."

Siera laughed. "Do you really think that? I have lived with you for a while now and I do not hate you.", she said to Kevin.

"You will soon." he said looking down still.

Siera took his head and forced him too look in her eyes. "Belive me, when I would hate you, I would have started it till now. My personality was about hating all the time. You are the first person I like.", she said to him.

Kevin teared up and started to cry on her shoulder, he rarely cried or got mad or happy really.

"Everything will get ok.", she said softly to him. She had no idea what she could say otherwise. So she only stood there, a hand on the back of his head and his head on her shoulder.

The air around Kevin grew thick, the thick air started to lift them up. (Thick air and thin air is hard to breath in by the way.)

Siera could breath more difficult and then she found out that the were lifted up. "Ahm, Kevin? What are you doing?", she asked the boy.

Kevin looked up and the fell down, the air returned to normal, "I'm sorry, That happens sometimes."
