Enter: Protector of Ice

"Luckily for Dane, he can heal fast but he is still asleep." Alex said as he sat down with his bowl of oatmeal, "And Madison is playing with Scraps outside and Henry is keeping an eye on her."

Trira nodded. "That is good. I do not want that something happens to Madison.", she said to Alex. Then she looked at him. "You have said you had been in the same situation as I am now. How long have you taken to be better?", she asked.

Alex bit his lower lip as he looked down then back to Trira, "I';m not sure but it was also when I was getting use to the energy power which is one of the strongest powers...i'd say for ice...2 weeks but it was doubled with the energy which took almost a month. You will not take that long, most likely, 4 to 5 days."

Trira closed her eyes. "That is too long.", she whispered. She wanted to stand up and do anything, not just lying around for four or five days. She had never done something like that. The only time where she had stayed longer at one spot was when Eric had been `ill´.

"I'm not good with knowing how long with just ice." He said as he rubbed the back of his head, "But that's what I think, heck, maybe its just 2 or 3 i just don't know for sure."

Trira shook her head. "You do not understand. I would like if it was finished NOW.", she told Alex. "I hate lying here and doing nothing."

"This only happens once so its better if it happens now, I haven't got sick yet from my power so consider yourself lucky." Alex said as he leaned forward on his knees.

Trira looked at him. "Wait, have you not said you had been in the same situation as I am now?", she asked Alex. She had not forgotten what he had said. But she also felt sorry for him.

"I did but with energy and ice not darkness." Alex explained, "But why it is taking this long, I have no clue."

Trira thought. An explanation for this would be really difficult. "I think we will never find out.", she then finally said.

"Because." said Henry from the doorway, "Your energy power is slowing it down as it did when you were in the real world. It's taking longer for it to come." Alex sighed and looked down, "Which means...It will take longer to get rid." Alex hated being sick, when he was little, after his parents were killed, being sick and alone made him miserable. Alex ran his fingers through his hair, "It's ok Alex." Henry said as he and Madison came in. Alex stood up and put his cloak and scarf on, "I'm heading out for a walk."

Trira looked after Alex. "Be careful!", she shouted after him before he vanished. Then she showed Madison to come to her. "How are you?", she asked the girl.

"I'm good, Henry took me out to get fish. It was very good." Madison said as she stuck her finger in her mouth and smiled. Henry laughed, "Not as good as fresh ones but they are dam well fine."

Trira laughed. "You will not think that about fish when you have to eat it very often. Then it is horrible.", she told Madison.

Madison giggled, "It takes longer if you make it in different ways."

"Yes. You are right. But how often can you do it different in the wilderness?", she asked Madison.

"Ah, but there is still other things." Madison said.

Trira nodded. She did not want to discuss further with Madison. She knew that the girl would be right all time. So she closed her eyes.

Alex came back, covering his left eye and grumbling, "Alex, what happened?" Henry asked as he sat down. Alex looked up then looked down, "I ran into a pole."

Trira turned her head to Alex. "What? How could that happen?", she asked him. She had still her eyes closed. She tried to open it, but it was not really easy. She had the feeling that she could sleep again soon.

"I got distracted." He said quietly, he didn't look up or take his hand off his eye.

Finally Trira opened her eyes. She could not see much, only shapes. "Tell me what had happened. And look to me while you do that.", she said to Alex.

Alex looked up but yet, still did not uncover his eye, "I saw something out of the corner of my eye then i tripped and fell into a pole."

Now nothing could hold Trira on the bed. She stood up and walked slowly over to Alex. "Show me your eye. I want to see it.", she said to him. One of her hands laid on his shoulder.

Alex sighed then removed his hand from his eye, it was a black eye and half swollen. Madison blinked, "That looks like it hurts." Alex sighed again, "Yes, very."
